This drawing is a scene from the hit tv series Supernatural and here I have drawn Dean Wincester played by Jensen Ackles.
Materials Used</u> -A4 smooth paper -Staedtler Mars Lumograph pencils -Putty eraser -Eraser stick
About the drawing I love this show and I've wanted to draw Dean for quite some time now. I didn't want to draw a popular picture of him. This scene talks a lot about the character of Dean in the series. There is so much emotion filled behind that tough exterior that he portrays. I can't say I have got his features exactly right here. There is something amiss. I can't really place what it is.
hello my name is sierra and i wanted to critique your picture i love this guy to i love how you decided to not do a comon picture it really sets the mood for the rest of the picture. the sheer uniqueness of the picture, he isnt much of a crier but your really captured something for me. when i look at this picture i feel that when i look at the picture and the dynamic of deans personality. Dean bottles( which means he doesnt really give himself a chance to feel) and by looking at this picture i see how he feels most of the time. I simply applaud you on a job well done. WELL DONE!!!!!!!
I really like the darks you achieved in this portrait but I really feel that the whites are lacking. I would have liked to see more white to give more contrast, especially the highlights around his eyes and chin. On the other hand, his face is a little bit wider than it really is, I think that might be what you think is amiss. I have to say though, the emotion in this piece is very clear and gives such an impact. I have to commend you for that since emotion, especially one that is not extreme like bawling or complete anger, is hard to show. I'd love to see more portraits like this where emotion is the main focus.
I like this, i like that you weren't afraid to add darker tones in there and it looks like you enjoyed working on textures in the flesh tones. Keep exploring these things and they will just get better and better. Well done
I love SPN and when I was in "Team Sam" between seasons 1-3, I've become more "Dean girl" since the 4th one. I adore the shading, so smooth and perfectly dark. The proportions and resemblance are well done, although there's something a little bit off with his right eye. But it's a minor flaw, I love the general outcome. You definitely captured his personality in this portrait
I know!!! I am like fangirling totally right now! I think I have always been a Dean Girl. Sam I like but Dean is whom I like better. Thankyou very much for your kind words dear and thankyou for faving as well! The eye definitely seems to be the problem.
He looks so very, very sad here!! It looks a LOT like him, but I think what you might be seeing is something with his right eye (on the left here). It seems to be a bit too wide somehow. Like the outer corner should be more inward? Not sure, but that's what I'm seeing here.
Excellent drawing though. The shading is great and matches the mood perfectly. Also makes the highlights in his eyes really pop, which naturally draws your attention there that way. Great job!!
I have seen many drawings of this guy on DA but have never seen any TV show or movie (to my knowledge) with him, but the only thing which looks a little odd, to me, is the angle of his right eye. This may be due to the facial expression or just the natural asymmetry of his face (which we all have).
Having said that this is still an excellent drawing Zakkiya.
